Prof. Steven ZhiYing ZHOU received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore, Singapore in 2004. During Aug 2006 – July 2007, he was a visiting fellow at University of Southern California. He has been an assistant professor in National university of Singapore and director of interactive media lab since 2007. Since 2012, he has been the director of Interactive Media and Software Development in NUS research institute Suzhou. His research interests include augmented and virtual reality, computer vision, and multimodal human–computer interaction. He has published 80 papers in relevant international journals and conferences. For all these years, Dr. Zhou has devoted himself to promoting the industrial development with academic researches. He has been invited as the keynote speaker in AR summit and Sim IDC 2013.
Dr Steven Zhiying Zhou was nominated for the World Technology Prize and issued the lifetime fellow of the world technology network in 2004. In 2010, he was awarded the National Infocomm Awards (Digital Media) and selected in the Leading Talents of Innovation and Pioneering of Suzhou Industry. In 2012, he was selected in the Leading Talents of Innovation and Pioneering of Suzhou, and In 2013, he was listed in National “A Thousand Talents Project” and selected in Suzhou Leading Talents in Innovation and Business Pioneering. Dr. Steven Zhiying Zhou’s group won champions of the Innovation China – Mobile Internet 2012 (out of 2000 groups) and Audi Innovation 2013 (out of 4950 groups). He was also awarded the title of “Innovative People 2013″ of the GQ magazine.
